UNIVERSITY OF LIBRARY STUDIES AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES – SOFIA

For less than 10 years the university has managed to keep the best of traditions in Library Studies but also develop new streams that have proved unique for our country. Thus, the university has now turned into the institution with the greatest number of candidates wishing to study here. Furthermore, the university is now part of the new educational conditions in Bulgaria but is also actively integrating into the European educational system. This is due to the specialties that we have on offer which are directly orientated towards your future careers as experts in the respective fields of study as well as the highly-qualified academic staff and the modern premises and educational and sports facilities of the university, which guarantee favorable conditions for quality education.

ULSIT has modern facilities to train its students. The specifically designed and built building includes a Ceremonial Hall; specialized seminar rooms; auditoria; computer laboratory by the name of John Atanasoff with modern computer rooms with Intranet and LAN, non-stop Internet access, where contemporary information and communication technologies are taught; a Library and Information Center that can seat 150 readers. A library stock of over 52,000 entries and book storage for 80,000 documents; there is an IP Point – information and consultant center on copyright law; Career center for assisting students in their job-seeking activities; a Museum-educational collection called Spiritual Pursuit and Leadership; museum exhibition of the contemporary Bulgarian spirituality; Publishing house; St. Nicolay Chapel; a phonetic study room; Lecturers’ rooms and administrative staff rooms; a meeting room; a modern gym with a large court; tennis courts; fitness room ; canteen; a coffee house.
